Therefore, if an item offered is unavailable, the customer will be duly informed of its unavailability for purchase. Under normal conditions, all products listed on our website are available for delivery within the indicated timeframes.
In cases where, after the order has been placed, the product purchased by the CUSTOMER is out of stock, the CUSTOMER will be duly informed and offered an alternative product with similar characteristics and equal price and quality to the one purchased. If, despite this, the CUSTOMER is not interested in accepting the proposed alternative, HOCKEYSHOP will refund the amount already paid and inform the CUSTOMER of the refund procedures and deadlines.
Home delivery times will depend on the product purchased, but as a general rule, the approximate delivery time will be 3 days from the time of purchase and the moment we confirm payment. These delivery times are approximate and in no way binding on HOCKEYSHOP.
Deliveries will be made on weekdays (Monday to Friday). It is recommended that the CUSTOMER state their preferred delivery time when completing the order details in the Comments section.
Home delivery of the purchased product will be made by the carrier along with a delivery note to the address indicated on the order form, which the CUSTOMER must sign as proof of receipt. Likewise, the CUSTOMER will be duly informed in the event of an incident or delay in delivery for any reason.
If delivery is not possible at the indicated address due to the recipient's absence, the carrier will contact the CUSTOMER directly to arrange either a delivery time or the collection of the package at the corresponding branch, or, in any case, to inform them of the next steps. After this deadline, if the order has not been collected, it will be returned to our warehouse and an email will be sent indicating how the final delivery will be made. In the latter case, the shipping costs will be borne by the CUSTOMER.
In the event that delivery is impossible due to an incorrect address, the cost of reshipping the order will be borne by the CUSTOMER. HOCKEYSHOP is not responsible for delays in the delivery of purchased items due to causes attributable to the carrier.
The CUSTOMER may also purchase and collect the order at our store at Calle de Reus 16, 28044 Madrid (Spain). HOCKEYSHOP will send the CUSTOMER an email when the purchase is ready for pickup. ** NOTICE ABOUT HOCKEY STICKS **
The sticks distributed by Hockeyshop are manufactured exclusively by world-renowned, top-tier brands.
The sticks are made with selected, top-quality wood and comply with the current regulations of the bodies that govern international roller hockey competitions. We must keep in mind that "wood," the raw material of the sticks, is sensitive to many external factors such as temperature, humidity, and sunlight. These factors cause the wood to change its structural state, affecting its strength or useful life. This does not mean that it is exposed to a manufacturing defect. Another element to consider is the impacts to which the stick is subjected; it must be understood that sticks are designed to hit the ball; and in this sense, the technique applied in passing and shooting is fundamental, since it is evident that repeated inappropriate impacts with the ground significantly affect the stick's durability. Subjecting them to blows during celebrations or in acts of anger or frustration (something very common these days) causes significant internal damage that will lead to obvious problems in the short term.
Hockey sticks are manufactured and designed to be used on smooth, even surfaces with a very low level of friction or abrasion; using them improperly or on unsuitable surfaces causes deterioration and reduces their useful life.
For this reason, and to preserve their preservation, it is important to avoid using them off the rink or in activities that have nothing to do with the sport. From our experience in the world of hockey, we have seen sticks used improperly countless times and in very unusual situations, especially when it comes to children. These situations are often unknown to parents who then find themselves with a damaged stick, concluding that it is a defect or poor quality of the item. It's not that nothing can be done with the stick...you can and should simply play hockey.
Another important point to keep in mind is selecting the right stick in terms of structure and features for each class or type of player. High-end models don't necessarily mean they'll last longer; sometimes they're even more sensitive. Similarly, beginner models are only suitable for beginners and aren't ideal for children who are already competing. The structural difference between compact sticks and laminated sticks should be taken into account. In the case of compact models, the blade is made from a single piece of wood. They tend to be more durable when touched by the court, but are more sensitive to strong impacts with the ball since the blade isn't protected or reinforced with any additional elements; it's simply the strength of that piece of wood. On the other hand, laminated sticks do have an outer layer of fiber that makes them more resistant, but they are much more sensitive to impacts with the ground and abrasive surfaces. Their blades are made of small sheets of wood that structurally function as a block but can break individually, causing small cracks in the area that rubs against the ground. However, in most cases, these damages do not affect the quality of hitting and passing. For all the reasons described, guaranteeing the useful life or durability of a stick is subjective, since from our perspective, it is impossible to measure the proper or improper use to which it has been exposed. We understand that, as a sensitive item, aspects such as its care and preservation are essential. We do not intend this fact to exempt us from responsibility regarding the quality of our products, but we will assume responsibility for cases where material defects with cracks are evident and are not due to damage caused by improper use.
Finally, we must make it very clear that a good stick does not equal a stick that will last over time. A good stick is one that transmits good sensations to the player. That same stick model can last a player a week, a month, or a year, depending on thousands of circumstances. Hence, there are countless brands and models of sticks on the market, each with different characteristics that transmit very different sensations to each player. In roller hockey, attempts have been made to manufacture sticks from components other than wood to make the product more durable, but without definitive results, due to the vibrations produced when hitting the ball, which are transmitted to the athlete's entire body, especially the arm, causing injuries such as tendonitis and the well-known tennis elbow injury.
Wood is the material that best absorbs these vibrations, and therefore wooden sticks are the most requested and used by all roller hockey professionals.
